This program equips public defenders, civil legal aid attorneys, and legal services decision makers with practical strategies for navigating the ethical considerations involved in using AI-powered tools in client-centered legal practice. 

Participants will learn how to: 

• Identify key ethical questions

• Assess and mitigate vendor-related risks

• Examine critical considerations

• Understand how a vendor’s broader business relationships and user base can raise ethical considerations

This webinar supports thoughtful, ethical, and secure adoption of AI tools for attorneys working across defender and civil legal aid contexts, while recognizing the unique obligations of lawyers serving clients in high-stakes, rights-protective roles.

This groups meet EVERY OTHER MONTH on the first Friday of the month from 3-4pm ET.

This Drop-In Group will provide a space for community members to process the impact of doing advocacy work in the current climate. Community members will share strategies for maintaining personal wellness and community resilience. Advocates from all communities (Civil Legal Aid, Client/Community Advocate and Public Defender) are encouraged to join and contribute to this supportive space.

This group is designed as a space for advocates (Civil Legal Aid, Client/Community Advocates, Public Defenders) to share: questions and concerns about changes to federal funding; strategies and opportunities for state and local funding; and ideas for developing new coalitions around access to justice efforts.
