No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Employment Practices and Challenges for the Equal Justice Community

This session will address how to identify and avoid or at least mitigate legal problems in employment practices. The discussion will emphasize the importance of developing and communicating clear disciplinary policies and grievance procedures and how procedural adherence, clear documentation, and what constitutes fair treatment in employment practices can prevent disputes from escalating, enhancing operational effectiveness and legal compliance.

  • Upon completion, attendees will understand common malpractice and ethical pitfalls facing attorneys and ways to avoid and/or minimize same.
