Lauren D. Song (she/her) is a Lead Attorney for Community and Public Initiatives at Greater Boston Legal Services, where she thrives on the opportunity to work collaboratively with community partners to advance equity-focused strategies that protect the rights and meet the needs of diverse, low-income communities. During the prior federal administration, she served as a senior attorney with the National Housing Law Project, where she led national campaigns alongside legal aid and tenant organizations to strengthen federal housing policies, with a particular focus on preserving and reinvesting in long-neglected public housing through mixed-finance redevelopment tools such as the Rental Assistance Demonstration. Earlier in her career at GBLS, Lauren worked directly with resident leaders, grassroots advocates, and housing providers to combat increasing displacement driven by gentrification and to support the redevelopment of distressed public housing through public-private partnerships grounded in meaningful community participation, strong affordability protections, and a commitment to nondisplacement. Lauren is a first-generation immigrant from Korea and a graduate of Yale College, the University of Chicago (ABD), and Harvard Law School.

Luke Grundman has made legal aid casework the center of his entire career. He started with Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (MMLA) as an Equal Justice Works Fellow in 2009, spent five years fighting foreclosures and predatory lending, staffed a medical-legal partnership clinic and then managed the Housing Unit of MMLA’s Minneapolis office from 2016 – 2021. In January 2022, Luke became one of two Litigation Directors at MMLA. Since then, he has also served as Interim Deputy Director and Interim Executive Director. Luke’s work consists of training and co-counseling newer lawyers, leading impact litigation and serving as MMLA’s general counsel. MMLA advocates for the legal rights of people to lead safe, healthy, and independent lives in their communities. MMLA has more than 170 staff positions providing legal aid in 30 Minnesota counties including Hennepin County, together with statewide practice groups including the Minnesota Disability Law Center. MMLA is not restricted in its practice by rules from the Legal Services Corporation.
